FAQ
These are the most frequently asked questions pertaining to our custom peptide polyclonal antisera service. If you don't find the answer to your question here, please ask us.
Synthetic peptides
Q: How do I solubilize my peptide?
A: In general, peptides should be solved in pure water (no buffer components - add these later).
If possible, add the peptide to the water in order to avoid aggregation.
Q: How should I store my peptide?
A: Peptides should be stored as dry and as cold as possible. Airtight and at -80°C for long term storage.
Polyclonal antisera
Q: What amount of antigen is required for immunisation of one rabbit?
A: Preferably we would like to use 500 ug for our 84-day protocol though 250 ug would be sufficient.
Q: How should I prepare my antigen for immunisation?
A: The antigen can be supplied in any formulation you like (lyophilised, solution, gel), as long as
it doesn't contain compounds harmful to the animal. When providing the antigen in solution, we prefer
a concentration of 0.2 mg/ml.
Q: How should I store my antiserum?
A: Avoid thawing and re-freezing. Thus, aliquote before storing in freezer.
Q: What protocol should I use for e.g. immunohistochemistry.
A: Innovagen does not provide protocols. You might want to try http://www.protocol-online.org.
